Blue Velvet

Description

Blue Velvet is a part of my Black Tie series which focuses on the use of black ink with little hints of color here and there. Imagine you were attending a formal party, but you wanted a bit of your personality to shine through, you had that extra bit of flare. This is what the Black Tie series is about, making sure you remember no matter what situation you’re in to always be true to yourself.

This piece is a part of my approach to abstract expressionism using alcohol ink. It balances my passion for the intensity of abstract expressionism with its explosive movements combined with the finesse of softer approaches such as the watercolor technique.
